Mennonite recipes are my kind of recipes. They are simple and down to
Earth easy to make. Several of my very favorites in this section are
the pork chop recipe and the red cabbage recipe.
Mennonite Pork Chops
Spread mustard on both sides of 6 pork chops. Brown in skillet
approximately 10 minutes, turning frequently. Add 1 can chicken rice soup,
1/2 can full of water and simmer for 25 to 30 minutes. Serve with rice.
Makes 6 servings
Mennonite Red Cabbage
2 tbsp. cooking
oil
4 c. shredded red cabbage
2 c. unpared cubed apples
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. vinegar
1/4 c. water
1/2 tsp. caraway seed
Salt and pepper
In skillet, heat oil. Add
remaining ingredients. Cover and cook over low heat, stirring
occasionally. Cook 25-30 minutes. Garnish with apple wedges, if desireD.
